Really, though? There is so much sad truth behind this picture. Children meet the world with such beautiful resilience. They fall. And they get back up again. They may not be able to understand certain things in life, but at the end of the day they understand the most important aspects of life better than most adults.
Forgiveness. Hope. Strength. Acceptance. Courage. Trust. LOVE.
All of these things are clear to us as we are small. I have always been curious.. What makes us lose sight of the important things as we grow older? Why in today’s society do we throw emotions around to solve problems, but without actually feeling them.. or believing in them? When, where, and why did we lose belief in the things our six and seven year olds seem to bask in?
And even the small things: everything is beautiful to children. They greet every day with excitement and joy. Every day is a new experience and every day holds something positive in store.. Even it’s a mistake made, and a lesson learned. Negativity is foreign.
But, this doesn’t change as we grow older.. The sun sets, but it still rises. There is a tomorrow waiting for us right around the tick of the clock’s hands.
I read this quote a few weeks ago and it was really moving to me:
“Rise in the morning with the spirit you had known in your childhood: That spirit of eagerness and adventure and certainty”
And, I intend to.

1. He actually doesn’t because he knows I’m a brat and I’ll come back.
2. I always make him say I love you before we hang up no matter how mad we are.
3. He puts me in a headlock after I punch him or tickles me to death.
4. Tells me to “shhhhhhhhhhhhutttt up and stop b-i-t-c-h-i-n-g” (because we dont directly cuss at eachother) lol
5. On netlfix every Tuesday & Saturday :D
6. Calls me a weanie, laughs at me and then gives me a kiss & bear hug when I cry in sad dog movies..lol

8. Invites me to booze night with the boys and we both rant.

We’re not exactly the picture perfect cliche. We’re playful, blunt and we keep it real with each other. We tell each other off when we’re acting dumb because we believe that sugar coating anything in any relationship is just a recipe for failure. We love each other, we communicate and speak or mind when we make each other happy or are driving each other nuts….
